Brief
This project was open for creative interpretation which required the accumulated knowledge that I acquired throughout my academic experience as a graphic designer. My object is to educate the viewers on how depression impacts the brain because depression is becoming a common mental illness in a society who is primarily self centered. It is beneficial to bring awareness because depression can negatively impact one’s ability to work, connect, form relationships, and overall quality of life, or even lose the will to live all together.
Challenges
There is a lack of knowledge and awareness about depression because it is a complex concept to understand. Nowadays, many people only seem to pay attention to mental health when it makes sense or affects them personally. Viewers are often overwhelmed and unresponsive to infographics that are flooded with written information.

Solution
The decision to design a visually striking infographic assists people’s understanding of a sensitive and difficult subject with the use of visual aids. The simplistic composition maintains the viewer’s attention to recognize and acknowledge the effects of depression.
